Basketball Update

Worth’s senior boys' basketball team has had a very successful season so far, winning five of the six games played. In recent years Worth’s basketball squads have played fantastically and consistently well and in 2008 the Under 18s finished top of the Southern Independent Schools Basketball League.

Team Captain Jaron Leung (Year 13) said, “The team has played together very well, particularly in our defense, where we have Chris Adlam at centre with Simon Jukes and Tim Long as forwards in support to secure rebounds. Simon also produces some great rejections under the basket. Up front in defense, myself and Jeroen Bromilow stop the ball before the opposition sees the opportunity to set up an attack.”

“In many situations, points are gathered from fast breaks by Jason Chan and Adam Semache, which always help to build towards a healthy lead. However, we occasionally find it difficult to turn some of our great defensive work into points.”

Jaron added, “This year we worked together well as a team, with a combination of boys from Years 11 to 13 being the key to our successful season. Thank you for your support all through this year.“
