Worthians send in thanks for warm Jamboree welcome.

Some students may not have noticed, but there was a special group of visitors at the Jubilee Jamboree.  Thanks to the efforts of the Friends of Worth and the Worth Society, boys who were at Worth in 1952/53 were invited back for the day.  At that time, Worth was a Prep School which acted as a feeder school for Downside.

Back again - Worthians return!

This very elite group of Worthians, some accompanied by their wives, were treated to lunch in the Cowdray Room.  It was a noisy and joyful reunion with the returning Worthians clearly pleased to see each other and also to see the monks.   Some had brought their old school photos which were enthusiastically revisited.

Poring over school photos

Lunch was followed by a tour of the school with Year 12 Worth girls acting as guides. Although girls at Worth were unheard of in 1953, they seemed to have no trouble in winning round our honoured guests.

Congratulations to Sara Barclay-Hudson from Friends of Worth, Olivia Henley from the Worth Society and Fr Stephen for all of their organisation which paid off so splendidly, and to Fr Kevin for hosting the drinks reception and conducting the blessing.  They have all been very touched with the messages of appreciation that have been received.
