Supper, Singing and Scottish Dancing for Burns Night
On 30th January over 100 parents and friends came together to celebrate the life of Robert Burns at the Friends of Worth Burn's Night Supper.
After the drinks reception a piper, Tony Daniel, led the way into supper. Guests enjoyed traditional Burn's Night fare and the spectacle of the haggis being piped round the room and stabbed with gusto during a rendition of Ode to the Haggis. After the meal David Gordon-Macleod and John Higgs gave everyone some insight into Burns and his influence.
Energetic Scottish dancing followed and the caller led beginners and intermediates alike through the dances with great skill before the evening came to a close with Auld Lang Syne.
“It was an evening of good fellowship and good fun,” said Friends of Worth committee member and School Governor Christina Fitzsimons.
