It offers Sixth Form students the opportunity to research a topic in depth and produce a 5000 word dissertation on a subject of their choice. It is a free-standing AS qualification and its purpose is to add a further dimension to sixth-form study, preparing students for the kind of independent learning that they will encounter at university.
